The Housing Maintenance Code applies to every multiple dwelling in New York City. What changes from borough to borough is the kind of building. Brooklyn and Queens have many small 3 to 8 unit walk-ups and multi-family homes. Manhattan and the Bronx have more large prewar elevator buildings. Staten Island is mostly homes, with apartment buildings clustered on the North Shore.
Tell us your building type and unit count and we will tell you exactly what to post.

No. The NYC Housing Maintenance Code and HPD rules apply the same way in all five boroughs. What differs is your building type, number of units and features like gas piping or rent stabilized apartments.
Buildings with three or more apartments, and one or two family homes where the owner does not live, must register with HPD every year by September 1. The registration number then goes on your registration number sign.
