Who needs it: every NYC building with 3 or more apartments and a heating system. HPD requires two: one in the lobby and one on the boiler room door.
$45.00 each · Buy 2 for the lobby and boiler room door
NYC Housing Maintenance Code Section 27-2033 requires the owner of a multiple dwelling to post the name and location of the person who holds the key to the heating system. In a heating emergency, tenants, firefighters and HPD inspectors need to find that person fast. A missing notice is a Class C violation, which must be corrected within 24 hours.
Our notice uses the standard wording with clear lines for the key holder’s name and apartment. Order it blank to write in, or type the details and we print them for you.
Two: one in the lobby and one on the boiler room door.
Update both signs right away. Choose blank signs if your staff changes often, so you can rewrite them.
HPD inspectors look for a clear, permanent notice. A printed aluminum sign lasts for years and reads clearly.
