One notice for the building’s common area
HMC Section 27-2045 and HPD’s rules require Class A multiple dwellings to post a notice about smoke and carbon monoxide detector requirements. Under 28 RCNY Section 12-12.1, one combined notice covers both, which saves wall space in small lobbies.
Buildings with gas piping also need natural gas detector notices, due January 1, 2027, and HPD allows those on the same combined notice. Ask us for the combined version.

Since February 2, 2026, HPD allows certain notices on a digital sign. If you go digital, every eligible notice must be digital. Most buildings keep printed signs.
