1. About these terms

These terms apply to every order placed with HPD Signs NYC, whether online at hpdsignsny.com, by phone, by text, by email or in our showroom. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

2. We are not a city agency

HPD Signs NYC is an independent sign company. We are not part of, or approved by, HPD, FDNY, DOB or any other city agency.

Our guides, checklists and sign finder are general information to help you choose. Rules change, and every building is different. You are responsible for confirming which signs your building needs and where they go. We are not responsible for violations, fines or penalties.

3. Placing an order

You will get an email when we receive your order. We may cancel an order and give a full refund if a product is unavailable, a price was listed in error, or we can't verify payment.

4. Prices and sales tax

Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice. The price you pay is the price shown when you place your order. We charge New York sales tax where the law requires it. If your organization is tax exempt, send us your exemption certificate before ordering.

5. Payment

Online orders are paid at checkout. Property management companies, contractors and repeat buyers can apply for a business account with Net 30 terms and bulk pricing. Net 30 invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date. We may pause new orders on accounts with past due invoices.

6. Proofs

Signs printed with your building details or your own wording get a free proof by email. Please check every detail, including the address, registration number, names, phone numbers and spelling. We start printing after you approve the proof, and we print exactly what you approve.

7. Production time

Most orders are ready in 2 business days after proof approval. Rush production is available and can ship the next business day. If you have a violation deadline, call or text us first. Ready dates are estimates and don't count weekends or holidays.

8. Shipping, delivery and pickup

• Standard delivery is $9.95 per order, anywhere in NYC and the rest of the US.
• Orders over $200 ship free.
• Free pickup is available. The pickup address is on our Shipping page and in your order confirmation. We text you when your order is ready.
• Messenger and hand delivery may be available in NYC. Ask us for a quote.

Delivery times are estimates. Once your order is delivered or picked up, it is your responsibility.

9. Damaged, wrong or missing items

If a sign arrives damaged, doesn't match your approved proof, or is missing from your order, send a photo and your order number within 7 days to info@hpdsignsny.com or text 718-701-1980. We will reprint or replace it at no cost.

10. Returns and refunds

• Signs made with your details (your address, registration number, names or wording) are made to order and can't be returned for a change of mind. If one doesn't match your approved proof, we reprint it free.
• Standard signs that are unused and in their original condition can be returned within 30 days. Contact us first for return instructions. Shipping costs are not refunded.

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days.

11. Changing or cancelling an order

You can change or cancel an order free of charge any time before you approve the proof. Once printing has started, the order can't be cancelled.

12. Product details

Colors on screen may look slightly different from the printed sign. Sizes are listed on each product page. Install signs as described in our mounting guides. We are not responsible for damage caused by improper installation.

13. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not responsible for indirect losses such as fines, lost rent or delays.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Kings County, New York.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms in effect when you place your order apply to that order.
